Power Your Internet Searches
To minimize the time it takes surfing the net to find answers and power
your internet searches so the results are information you're REALLY looking
for...
- Always try to use more words (so long as they're descriptive) rather
than less. This simple step alone will bring back much more relevant
results.
- Surround your search terms with quotation marks when looking for an
exact name or phrase. (Check out the difference in the number of pages
found for the search term data recovery with quotes and without!)
- If you want search results always include a certain word, put a plus
sign before the required word. (Be sure to include a space before the
"+" sign. i.e. "memory cards" +sd)
- If you want your searches to exclude certain words, simply add a minus
sign immediately followed by the word to be excluded. (i.e. "memory
cards" -sd)
- Search engines ignore common words such as "where", "the",
"how". If a common word is essential to getting the results
you want, you can force it to be included by putting a "+"
sign in front of it as shown above.
