Select All with your Mouse

It's time for another edition of our tips and trick where we present you with a few helpful bits of information which we hope makes your everyday computing tasks just a little bit quicker & easier.

And the Wheel on the Mouse Goes...
I'm sure you already knew that if you scroll the wheel on your mouse up or down, the page scrolls up or down.

But, did you know that if you press CTRL while spinning the mouse wheel in Internet Explorer or Outlook Express, the text will zoom in or out.

Also, if you hold SHIFT while rolling the mouse wheel, Internet Explorer will go backwards or forwards through the web pages you've recently visited.

What's an Affiliate Program?
You may have heard of affiliate programs but aren't really sure what they are and if they're for you. Well, an affiliate program simply allows you to become a "marketing partner" of a company. And, given the credit crunch with plenty of people losing their jobs, now may be the prefect time to start or expand your internet moneymaking potential - maybe even with us!

After you sign-up to become an affiliate, you need to market the product(s) of the company you selected. You could do this via your own web site, newsletter, blog, forums, etc. The company should be providing you with banner ads, sales copy (i.e. text) and images for you to use.

When your web site visitors / newsletter readers click on the the images or links provided and buy the product you're marketing, you get paid a percentage (often up to 50%) of the sale!

It's probably one of the easiest ways to make money on the internet - after all, you don't need to create a product, ship the product, provide customer support or issue refunds. You simply market the product and make money in the background.

Some of the more popular affiliate programs out there on the net include: myHelpHub.com, ClickBank, Amazon and Commission Junction. There are MANY more out there on the internet of course.

Data Recovery Systems Ltd will soon be launching its own affiliate program. Media Investigator v6 has been in the making for several months and is due to be released within a month. It's got easier to use screens, with "walkthroughs" on each screen. It looks much better and the recovery algorithms are more powerful than ever (and our competitors).

We don't want to ruin the surprise as there are many other big improvements, but if you're interested in making some money by spreading the word about Media Investigator (and helping people recover their lost & deleted files and photos), you can sign up now to be notified when our affiliate program is launched by visiting http://www.digitalfilerecovery.com/affiliates.html.

When it's launched, you'll have access to banners, sales copy, images, links and we'll be paying you a BIG percentage of any sales we get as a result of your efforts. Plus, you'll get a percentage of sales of those you refer to us that sign up as an affiliate. (You'll make money from your advertising efforts and from others' advertising efforts. This is called a 2 tier affiliate program.)

Select All with your Mouse

You undoubtedly already know that by pressing CTRL and A, you select all text in a document but, perhaps you would like to use the mouse instead of the keyboard.

Well, to select all of the text in a MS Word document using (mainly) the mouse, simply move your mouse pointer into the left margin and then hold CTRL while you left-click.

That's it for this month. We hope you find these tips useful and if you did, someone else will, so please share them!
