How to take a screenshot

If you’ve ever gotten to a point in Word where the formatting is a mess and you wish you could just clean it up and start over, what you may have done was to highlight everything (CTRL + A) and then Undo (CTRL + Z) everything you can. That will often get the job done but there is a better way.

In the newer versions of Word, open the Styles & Formatting task pane (Format > Styles and Formatting…). Then select the entire document (CTRL + A) and then with the document’s text selected, select Clear Formatting in the Styles and Formatting Task Pane.

That’s it! All formatting is removed so you can start formatting anew.

Opening Several Programs At Once
You already know that to open a program, you can go to the Start Menu / All Applications and click the program you want to run.

If you want to open more than one program, hold the SHIFT key will clicking on the program you want to open. This will prevent the Start menu from disappearing when Windows runs the program you’ve selected saving you time in selecting the next program(s).

Word for the Web
Almost all internet providers give you a bit of web space when you sign up for their internet services. So, if you’ve want to share your life with the masses, it’s easier than ever.

You don’t even need special web software to create your web site. A web site is made up of web pages. (One page would normally link to one or more other pages.) You can use the most popular word processor around to create your web pages – Microsoft Word.

Create a web page as if you were creating a Word document – headings, formatting, footer, pictures, the whole thing exactly as you want to see it on the internet. Then when you go to save it, select the Save as Type Web page (*.htm, *.html) and enter your page’s name. (No spaces!)

Of course, this just saves your page to your computer’s hard drive and no one’s going to see it there. You need to upload it to your web space. Your ISP is likely to have provided you with an easy tool to upload your page to the internet. If you’re not sure, ask them.

If you want your own domain name and a bit (actually, a LOT) more power behind your web site, we’d highly recommend our web host provider – Bluehost.com.
