24/7 Windows Help
It happens to almost all of us at least once. You’re working on
the computer and then it decides to stop cooperating. You struggle for
hours to get it to do what you want it to do without luck. It’s
getting late. Too late to call your friend in IT or your niece who knows
more about computers than Bill Gates himself. (Well, at least it seems
that way.)
Well, sometimes the best help is right under your nose. Simply click
Start and then Help and Support. This will bring up Microsoft’s
Help and Support Center. You can ask troubleshooting questions, browse
help topics, get tutorials and other general support.
If you’re getting an error message, make sure to write it down
and enter some of the main words in the support search. Odds are very
good someone else has already had the exact same problem and found the
answer. In fact, we’d recommend you look here first for solutions
to any Microsoft problems you encounter.
Speed Up Your PC
If you’d like your computer to:
1) run faster,
2) look after itself automatically,
3) protect itself viruses, spyware, adware and hackers
Then you should read our free report on “How
to Make and Keep your Computer Running Quickly and Securely”.
It’s only 14 pages, easy to follow and absolutely free. All you
have to do is go to http://www.digitalfilerecovery.com/letters/SpecialRpts/FastSecurePC.html.
Save Email Addresses Quickly
To quickly save an email address of someone who sent you an email which
you’re reading with Outlook, simply right-click on the email address
and select Add to Contacts. It’s that easy.
Folder Viewing
Do you find that your folders are shown several different ways when browsing
your computer with Windows File Explorer? If you find that one folder’s
displaying icons, another’s showing thumbnails while yet another
is showing a whole list including a bunch of information which you don’t
want to see and want all your folders to display the same way, here’s
what to do.
1) Go to a folder of your choice in Windows File Explorer. (Start >
All Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer)
2) Click on View and then select the view you like. (Thumbnails, Tiles,
Icons, List, Details)
3) Next, choose how you’d like the files to be sorted by clicking
View > Arrange Icons By and then either Name, Size, Type or Modified.
4) To make all folders look like the one you’ve just set up, click
Tools > Folder Options > View tab > Apply to All Folders.
Now all your folders will be shown in the same format.
